Looking at Art: a beginner’s course

25 September — 4 December 2014

Thursdays, 25 September – Thursday 4 December, 1-3pm (no session 30 October)
£55 per person (concessions available)

This 10 week course looks at art across four regional art galleries, in partnership with Wolverhampton Adult Education Service. At The Barber Institute of Fine Arts we look at art from the Renaissance to the twentieth century, followed by a focus on early twentieth century art and the influence of non-European cultures at The New Art Gallery Walsall. At Wolverhampton Art Gallery we consider Pop Art, Black Art, the art of ‘The Troubles’ and gender while at Ikon Gallery we explore international contemporary art including work by Imran Qureshi from Pakistan. This course is suitable for adult learners of all ages with no previous art knowledge.

Booking essential. Please contact Wolverhampton Adult Education Service on 01902 558180 or visit www.aes.wolverhampton.gov.uk for more information.
