Slow Boat, Brindleyplace

Referencing Hew Locke’s Armada (2019), artist Jane Thakoordin, Ikon Youth Programme (IYP) and the Barber Collective decorate Slow Boat. It floats between Ikon and The Barber Institute of Fine Arts in order to locate Idia, the first queen mother of Benin. In partnership with The Barber Institute of Fine Arts.

This event is part of The Migrant Festival which runs from 30 May – 2 June. A four day festival fusing migration, art, music and performance. Download the full guide here.

Slow Boat is accessible by wheelchair via a ramp and lift and crew are on hand to provide additional assistance for foot passengers boarding the boat. We advise visitors to call 0121 248 0708 to discuss any access requirements.
