Post Marks Showcase

Ikon exhibits a selection of art works made by the four European Post Marks participant groups, exploring how the postal exchanges have influenced the evolution of each project.

As part of our ongoing commitment as Arts Champion for Northfield, Ikon has been delivering Post Marks, a project involving local residents. Working in collaboration with partner arts organisations across Europe – Espai d’Art Contemporani de Castellón (EACC), Spain, KulturLabor, Germany and MAMbo, Italy – Post Marks is a series of projects exploring drawing and cultural exchange. Participants make work which is shared by post and take part in exchange visits. The drawings have been exhibited in each European venue as the project has evolved over the course of two years. In February 2012 the first exchange and exhibition was held at EACC, the second at KulturLabor in July and the third at MAMbo in October. The final celebration and exhibition takes place at Ikon in March 2013, when all partners and participants will visit Birmingham.

You can also visit our blog for information on future events including the Northfield Arts March.

Post Marks
As part of our ongoing commitment as Arts Champion for Northfield,  Post Marks was a two year project (2011-2013) exploring drawing, collaboration and cultural exchange. A group of local residents from across Northfield, Birmingham, worked with Ikon to explore how drawing can be used as a tool to negotiate, map and reflect on the place in which one lives.
