About the artist

Nilupa Yasmin is an award-winning artist and educator. Working primarily with lens based media, Yasmin takes a keen interest in the notion of culture, self-identity and anthropology. Combined with her love for handcraft and the materiality in photographic explorations, she repeatedly draws upon her own South Asian culture and heritage. Yasmin is a visiting lecturer in photography at Coventry University and a studio holder at Grand Union, Birmingham.

Ikon’s Learning Programme is supported by Cass Art. Please consider making a donation for this free activity. Ikon is a registered charity and your support helps us with everything we do.

Faster Than Ever
In light of challenges arising from the Covid-19 pandemic, Ikon has departed from the advertised programme to curate a group exhibition from artworks it has accumulated over time. Faster Than Ever is an exhibition invented out of necessity, an exercise in capitalising on chance, making the most of incongruity and happy accidents.
