Often co-created, these projects challenge expectations of where art can be seen and who makes it.

Art in Prisons

Ikon’s Art in Prisons programme places artist residencies in three prisons: HMP Grendon and HMP Spring Hill in Buckinghamshire, and HMP Birmingham. Each residency shares the core belief that art practice can be a force for good in carceral settings.

Donald Locke
RESISTANT FORMS. AT SPIKE ISLAND, BRISTOL.
Spike Island presents the first major survey exhibition of Guyanese-British artist Donald Locke (1930–2010). The exhibition at Spike Island explores the development of his work across Guyana, the UK and the United States over five decades, from the late 1960s to the early 2000s.
