Ikon has been an educational charity since 1968, developing audiences for modern and contemporary art with emphasis on local communities. We do this through our public and youth programmes, our provision for schools, universities and families, and community outreach, including prisons.

Ikon is established as a sector leader for its work with school pupils of all ages, offering creative activities, tours and other projects.

ART AT HMP GRENDON

With a focus on the development of the prisoners’ artistic practice, Ikon has opened the Marie-Louise von Motesiczky Studio at HMP Grendon – a dedicated space for workshops, in printing and painting, and a changing programme of exhibitions, art historical and contemporary.

Funded by the Marie-Louise von Motesiczky Charitable Trust.
