The gallery features temporary exhibitions over two floors. Ikon shows work by artists from around the world and a variety of media is represented, including sound, film, mixed media, photography, painting, sculpture and installation.

Ikon Shop is Birmingham’s only specialist art bookshop, stocking a range of books, cards, artists’ limited editions, magazines and gifts relating to art, design, photography, architecture and contemporary culture. All profits from Ikon Shop support Ikon Gallery’s charitable artistic and educational programme.

From New Street station walk to Victoria Square, past the Town Hall and in front of the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery onto Centenary Way. Continue through Centenary Square and the International Convention Centre (ICC). Walk over the bridge into Brindleyplace, and between Carluccio’s and Slug & Lettuce. Alternatively turn left in front of the ICC and right onto Broad Street, then right into Oozells Street. Approximately 15 minute walk.
Train
Birmingham’s New Street, Snow Hill and Moor Street stations are all within a 25 minute walk of Ikon Gallery. Train times are available from the National Rail website.
Bus
Ikon is accessible by bus from most areas of the city. Our closest bus stops are on Broad Street close to Oozells Street. For details of times and routes visit Network West Midlands.
Air
From Birmingham International airport, use the airport shuttle to Birmingham International train station, then take one of the regular trains to Birmingham New Street Station. Ikon Gallery is approximately 15 minutes walk from New Street or alternatively taxis are available outside New Street Station.
Canal
The closest moorings to Ikon are at Sherbourne Wharf. Take the steps or pathway up to Brindleyplace and follow the directional signs.
Birmingham is accessible by the M5, M6, M40 and M42 motorways. Drivers should follow signs to Birmingham City Centre and then look for the brown tourist signs to the International Convention Centre, Barclaycard Arena, Canals and Brindleyplace. The postcode for Ikon Gallery is B1 2HS.
Parking
The nearest car park is Q-Park Brindleyplace on Brunswick Street. For a 10% discount pre-book and quote IKON at q-park.co.uk, Q-Park have also kindly agreed to make a 10% donation to Ikon for each booking made.
Orange and blue badge holders may park on double yellow lines on Oozells Street in accordance with badge guidelines. There is a bicycle rack near Ikon.
