Astral Dance Safety Curtain
Join us at Birmingham Hippodrome for a tour of Balraj Khanna’s largest painting to date Astral Dance (2001) and a screening of Big Bang a short film produced by the artist’s daughter Rani Khanna.
This event offers a window into the journey Khanna undertook in painting the safety curtain, and marks the 25th anniversary of Khanna’s landmark commission as part of the redevelopment of Birmingham Hippodrome following their 100th anniversary.
This exhibition is generously supported by lead supporter Bagri Foundation, with additional support from ai. gallery, the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, Jhaveri Contemporary, and The Estate of Balraj Khanna.
