Join Bob & Roberta Smith for a short talk about activism for arts in schools, including Smith’s own actions such as painting Letter to Michael Gove (2011); creating The Art Party; and standing against Gove in the 2015 General Election. Smith also talks about the history of art education in schools while demonstrating simple drawing exercises, gifting prizes to his audiences and performing a song or two on his keyboard.

About the artist
Bob and Roberta Smith OBE RA (real name Patrick Brill) is an internationally acclaimed British artist, author, educator and protect the arts activist. His work is held in collections all over the world including MoMA and Tate Modern. His best-known works include Make Art Not War and Letter to Michael Gove. Bob and Roberta Smith is an academic at the Royal Academy of Arts and also teaches at London Metropolitan University. He is revered internationally as a tireless advocate for art education in schools.
