CBSO in the City comes to Ikon Gallery and provides free performances in our current exhibition SPAN by artist Seulgi Lee.
Classics Reimagined at Ikon, 2-3.30pm
Join us for an exciting line-up of music, combining classical favourites with popular hits. Hear a string quartet perform music by composers including Ludovico Einaudi and Sigur Rós – or if you’re more of a pop fan, enjoy classics by Clean Bandit, Björk, The Cardigans and more.
Double Bass and Friends at Ikon, 3.45-5pm
Experience the rhythmic power and rich tone of the double bass in a selection of duets, programmed and performed by CBSO musicians.
The performance showcases four double bass players, joined by members of the brass, woodwind and string sections of the orchestra.
About CBSO in the City
In July 2025, CBSO will be out and about in Birmingham with a huge range of exciting shows, all completely free. CBSO in the City takes place in unexpected locations including New Street Station, libraries, museums, galleries, parks and outdoor spaces. Read more.
