Cosmic Birds

Gravity, movement and light are explored in an exhibition of kinetic sculptures by Japanese artist Shun Ito. Central to the work is a new installation, Cells (2016), a large-scale mobile comprising 200 rotating steel rings and 30 electric light bulbs, made by the artist in Birmingham. A programme of events includes a live performance In A Landscape (12–14 May) by Kei Miyata, combining sculpture, movement and hypnotic sounds played live by Ex Easter Island Head. Presented by Ikon in collaboration with International Dance Festival Birmingham, Judy Owen Ltd and Kei Miyata.
