Family Saturday
Inspired by Donald Locke’s work and life, families can work with artist Michael Kennedy to produce a new folk spirit. Produce spirits with character design skills, bright coloured papers, cards and cutting and sticking tools. Place in historical images from Kennedy’s personal archives to add historical context to your creation whilst embodying the creativity of Donald Locke’s artworks.
About the artist
Michael Daniel Kennedy is a comics author, illustrator, visual artist and educator. He is the author of Milk White Steed, a story collection combining Caribbean folklore, life in Britain and classic comics genres. As an illustrator he has worked for the likes of the New Yorker and New York Times, producing drawings for investigative journalism, opinion columns and book reviews related to legacies of the transatlantic slave trade.
