Family Saturday
Join artists Vic Moyosola and Sadie Barnett for an interactive photography and ‘framing’ session inspired by their work in What are the odds? – Ikon’s off-site exhibition at the Library of Birmingham.
In this workshop families are invited to have their own family photograph taken before decorating a frame. Families can use a variety of techniques including printmaking, collage and reflective writing to encase their portrait.
About the Artists
Vic Moyosola is a self-taught photographer and storyteller whose work explores themes of community, identity, the beauty in connection and Black joy. In her efforts to highlight these themes she aims to show how important vulnerability is, using art to heal self and others.
Sadie Barnett is a curator, visual artist, researcher and artist educator who runs workshops which encourage personal reflection, focus on the process of healing and explore the transformative power of arts and crafts. Barnett reflects this practice in their journalistic art style in their work under moniker bitsketchyinit.
