Creative Workshops

How does it feel to arrive in a new place? How can we help children get ready to start school?

Join Ikon and artist Haseebah Ali for a free creative workshop exploring these questions. Aimed at all families with pre-school children, the workshop includes experimenting with making and materials to create your own artworks. Older siblings also welcome.

This workshop is organised in partnership with University of Cambridge, University of Birmingham and Kettle’s Yard (Cambridge), part of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funded Ready or Not study, which aims to explore children’s development in Reception and Year 1. It is part of Ikon’s Arrivals programme for Summer 2022, concerned with the international movement of people and ideas and organised to coincide with the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Ikon’s Learning Programme is supported by Cass Art.
