Teacher Twilight CPD Session

Teachers are invited to join artist Monica Perez Vega to discuss Foreign Exchange, by Guyanese-British artist Hew Locke, presented by Birmingham 2022 Festival. Participants will consider how Locke reimagines historical statues, before taking part in practical creative activities for use in the classroom.

About the artist
Monica Perez Vega is a visual artist living in Birmingham, whose work explores ideas of uncertainty and adaptation. Originally from California, she has taught art at the International School of Hilversum in the Netherlands and Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst, Birmingham. Perez Vega has facilitated art workshops with Ikon, Gallery 37/Centrala and participated in the Slade Summer School Teaching Residency, 2019.

She holds an MFA in painting from the Slade School of Fine Art, a BFA from the California College of the Arts and is currently participating in the Turps Correspondence Course.
