The Balraj Khanna Estate in conversation with Antonia Blocker

Join us for an insightful conversation exploring the life and work of Balraj Khanna. The discussion brings together his daughter and Director of his Estate, Kaushalia Khanna; his wife, Francine Khanna and Antonia Blocker, Artistic Director (Exhibitions), Maternity Cover.

This exhibition is generously supported by lead supporter Bagri Foundation, with additional support from ai. gallery, The Estate of Balraj Khanna, Jhaveri Contemporary, the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art and those who wish to remain anonymous. Paint kindly supplied by Little Greene.

About the speakers
Directed by Kaushalia Khanna, The Estate of Balraj Khanna is dedicated to stewarding the collection, archive, and intellectual legacy of the artist and writer Balraj Khanna (1939–2024), one of Britain’s most significant post-war artists of South Asian origin. Through exhibitions, publications, loans, conservation, acquisitions, and scholarly research, the Estate seeks to preserve and promote this legacy, deepen understanding of Khanna’s life and work, and foster new perspectives on his enduring contribution to modern and contemporary art in Britain and beyond.

Antonia Blocker is currently Artistic Director, Exhibitions (Maternity Cover) at Ikon. She has held curatorial positions at Modern Art Oxford, where she was Acting Head of Exhibitions, Zabludowicz Collection, Whitechapel Gallery, ICA, and the Serpentine. She is currently curating the 2026 London Contemporary Music Festival. She is particularly interested in performance, and supporting artists who work in disruptive, imaginative and expansive ways, who are not well platformed by traditional exhibition structures.
