Ikon and OPUS Commission Megan Reddi artwork for Champions Square

Ikon and Outdoor Places Unusual Spaces (OPUS) have co-commissioned Birmingham-based illustrator and printmaker Megan Reddi to create the visual identity and design for Champions Square, the official fan zone of the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships.

Taking place in Centenary Square from 13-16 August 2026, Champions Square will bring together sport, culture and community in the heart of Birmingham. Through this new commission, Ikon and OPUS are supporting local creative talent while helping shape a major public space during one of the city’s most significant sporting events.

Megan has created a bespoke series of illustrations inspired by the energy, movement and shared experiences that connect sport, culture and public life. Her bold and colourful designs will be featured throughout Champions Square, creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for the thousands of visitors expected across the four-day programme.

A Birmingham-based illustrator and printmaker, Megan’s work combines contemporary illustration with traditional printmaking techniques. She has collaborated with clients including Lush, The Big Issue and National Express West Midlands, and is also one of the directors of Stirchley Printworks, an artist-run community print studio in south Birmingham.
