National Treasures 2024

Ikon is proud to be a partner in National Treasures 2024, a key strand of the programme celebrating The National Gallery’s Bicentenary.

Twelve partner venues, one in each region of the UK, will receive a masterpiece from the Gallery’s collection and will curate around it, involving interpretation, community engagement and events, or exhibitions. The displays all open simultaneously on 10 May 2024, the 200th anniversary of the National Gallery’s opening in London. For the duration of the exhibitions, 35 million people – more than half the UK population – will be within an hour’s journey of a National Gallery masterpiece.

Ikon will present Self Portrait as Saint Catherine of Alexandria (about 1615-17) by Artemisia Gentileschi (1593-1654 or later).

The exhibition continues to 8 September 2024 and takes place during Ikon’s 60th anniversary year.
