With Ikon Youth Programme (IYP)

Family Saturday takes place on the first Saturday of every month.

This month’s Family Saturday is hosted by Ikon Youth Programme (IYP).

Join IYP for a cyanotype printing workshop and create your own blue-and-white prints using light and everyday objects. Experiment with salt crystals to create unique textures and patterns.

If you’d like to, bring along a small object to print with, such as a leaf, key, piece of jewellery, or other item with an interesting shape, texture or personal story.

While your cyanotype develops, watch Retired Youth: The Show, IYP’s new online community TV show, created with artist Alice Theobald, in the Events Room.

Ikon presents Break the Mould, the final exhibition in a trilogy exploring craft, art school pedagogies and contemporary art practice. This show focuses on ceramics, positioning clay as a site of experimentation.

Family Play with Clay Day

Step into Ikon’s Ceramics Studio, located within the Break the Mould exhibition and enjoy a hands-on making session together. Experiment with clay and contribute your own unique creation to a temporary display in the exhibition.
