Are you aged 16-21, curious and creative? Come and help shape RETIRED YOUTH, a fresh online artist-led TV programme made with young people, for young people.
Explore contemporary and generational topics through creative experimentation, imagination, DIY ethos and a license to make mistakes.
What is RETIRED YOUTH?
RETIRED YOUTH is a new online, magazine-style, community, artist-TV programme made with young people aged 16-21. Filmed with a live studio audience, RETIRED YOUTH will explore topics important to young people through interviews, video features, art, performance, discussion, music and much more.
Drawing on artist Alice Theobald’s multi-disciplinary skill set (music, performance, moving image, installation, on-stage and off…) and informed by 2 decades of experience in DIY production, the project will privilege creative experimentation and learning together through hands-on experience and collaboration.
What we are looking for?
Anyone aged 16–21 who’s up for being:
- In front of the camera
- Behind the camera
- Part of the creative team
You don’t need experience — just ideas, enthusiasm, and a collaborative mindset. Together, you’ll help create EPISODE #1: ‘The Pilot’ of this exciting new venture as part of the Ikon Youth Programme (IYP).
Activity will take place throughout March-May including some Thursday evenings and days over Easter holidays with a final showcase in September 2026.
